The Nature Conservancy has a preserve just south of Wickenburg, AZ where the Hassayampas River goes above ground. Mostly the river is underground, but where it comes above ground you have trees and wildlife. Here is a pond in the preserve:
A palmetto, you could almost believe we were Georgia seeing this:
It is obvious where the river is from the trees:
We did see a few birds and caught this one with the camera:
This fox was eating a sandwich. Hopefully the sandwich was stolen and not something someone gave to the fox:
