August 18, 2005 - Moraine Lake in late afternoon

The day was still young so we went to Moraine Lake, it was very beautiful with the water colored by glacial silt:

Some of those glaciers are still here in August and people were canoeing, we liked how the yellow canoe looked on the water:

The Moraine Lake Lodge had a wonderful view and a nice gourmet menu, we made a reservation to come back for Bill's birthday on the 20th:

We then went for a ranger talk on Grizzly Bears and then went to bed.  Sometimes Grizzlies are seen in the campground, but we didn't see one.  They have an electric fence around the tent area, only hard-sided RVs are allowed where we were camped.
