We and Diane's parents drove over to the Coronado Hotel on the 28th. Many years earlier we had not gone on a work fun trip here for the weekend since we were taking a long vacation a week later. Now we could finally see the place:
The menu at the restaurant was above our price range:
The hotel has a nice beach, it would be better on a warmer and calmer day:

We drove into Chula Vista and had lunch and then went and explored Old Town San Diego. First the historic park area:
There were also stores and we bought some espresso beans at one. Outside many flowers were blooming:
Then we roamed around the non-historic district before heading back to the campground.
