Kakabeka Falls - September 3, 2005

Kakabeka Falls was in the way of the east-west route and had to be forded.  Now it has a diversion dam for electricity production so it only flows fully in the spring when there is too much water for electricity or on weekends when they let more through for tourists.  The Provincial Park has many informational signs and lots of information about the history of the falls, the history of the locals, the plant and animal life and electricity production.  We just happened to be there on a weekend:

You can pay for one hour, two hours, a day, a week, etc.  It is worth stopping here.
