November 9, 2006 - Sunset at Rio Grande Village

The nature trail from Rio Grande Village starts in the campground and ends on top of a hill.  Here is the view looking back towards the campground with the Rio Grande River on the left and a pond we crossed on a boardwalk below:

Looking the other way is the Rio Grande River, the other side is in Mexico:

Buildings in Mexico:

Another view from a bit higher up where the river is more obvious:

A grainy close-up of our campsite where the car and satellite dish are more visible than the motorhome:

On the Mexican side some goats appeared:

We could tell they were heading for the river:

A Mexican rider appeared and the goats moved behind some bushes and stayed still:

The rider could see the goats, he is looking right at one (which does blend in well in this picture):

After the rider left the goats continued down the river:

After getting a drink they went into the brush and we didn't see them again.

We talked to a man who is taking a two week vacation about travel.  He has hiked the entire Pacific Crest Trail from Canada to Mexico. That is an achievement!

Now the sunset started.  The sunset colors were best behind us:

Here is the sunset:

More from behind:

It is about over:

We headed back before it got too dark.  We walked with some people who were also in Livingston, TX when we were just a few days earlier.  We both remembered being introduced, but did not get a chance to talk in Livingston.
