June 21, 2006 - Bus to Fraser, BC

The trip south was quite scenic and we saw a grizzly bear well enough to identify it.  Unfortunately it didn't hang out for pictures.

The bus stopped for thirty minutes at the town of Carcross for coffee, rest rooms (wash rooms), a museum stop and shopping.

This arctic ground squirrel wouldn't turn around for pictures:

After leaving Carcross we crossed into British Columbia at the 60th parallel and eventually came to the train station and customs stop of Fraser, BC.  Here is Canadian Customs checking buses on the way north.

The train tracks going to Skagway before the train arrived.

It is a scenic spot.

Once the train arrived the place got busy and we didn't take any pictures.  Many people piled off the train and then we were allowed to enter our train car.  It looked like good weather for the train trip, not like in 2000 when we had snow and fog for the same train.
