August 12, 2007 - Columbia River Maritime Museum

We met up with Fred and Jo to see the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria.  We had never met before but quickly got along well.  Here is Fred's back and Jo taking some photos at the museum:

Now you can see more of Fred:

The museum is great and well worth our time.  It is much larger inside than we expected.

The ship models were fun:

We took a break and headed out to lunch.  We tried the Silver Salmon in Astoria as recommended by Art the day before.  It was a 4-star experience.

Fred and Diane looking at the real Coast Guard lifeship that is on display:

In back of the museum is the Lightship Columbia and somehow we didn't get any photos of the ship itself, just these information signs.

The view west from the museum:

We had a great day with Fred and Jo.
