September 17, 2009 - Day Trip to Longaberger Basket Company

The big attraction in the area is Longaberger Basket Factory.  Here we are at the factory entrance:

The self-guided tour is above the factory floor.  We took many photos, but here are a few to give you an idea of the place.

Then we took the shuttle bus to the "homestead" area with shops and places to eat.  Nice displays outside:

Joy was looking for Maple Caramel Walnut ice cream, but they did not have any this day.

We shopped, we had an OK lunch at the Homestead Restaurant.  We took photos at the big basket:

Phil and Joy:

Joy sent us the photo they took of us:

Afterwards we visited the factory store and we all decided the prices were just too high for us.  Joy and Phil used to buy and sell stuff at garage sales and could not spend $50 or more for baskets they used to buy for $5 and less.

Then we drove to Longaberger's office building and took some photos of the building.
