December 26, 2003 - Big Pine Key, FL

On our last day we realized we hadn't toured Big Pine Key like we planned so off we went.  The first sight was this iguana, which kindly stopped for pictures:

We went to the "Blue Hole", the largest freshwater pond in the Keys and the first thing we saw was this alligator.  This is the first wild alligator we have seen in Florida since the Everglades tour before our cruise in April.

Turtles and fish also inhabit the Blue Hole:

The white catfish stood out but it was hard to get a clear picture.

After visiting the Blue Hole we went looking for Key Deer and did quite well finding them:

Now we felt we had seen the sights on Big Pine Key.
