March 10, 2005 - Anza-Borrego State Park part 1

Here we are at the State Park headquarters:

We toured the plants by the visitors center:

The uncommon Yellow Ocotillo was blooming and they had a pond to show us desert pupfish:

Armed with a map we bought from the park service we headed out looking for wildflowers and found them.

The prickly pear cactus was also blooming:

We even saw a jackrabbit:

It had been a wet winter, so there were lots of wildflowers.

Some we had to find the right place to take a picture:

There were lots of people out there with us, we all were encouraging each other to find that interesting flower.

The first picture is the only penstemon we saw.
