January 13, 2006 - other birds on the Anhinga Trail

It was a great day for Anhinga pictures, here is a female (brown neck) and male (black neck) getting warm and drying off:

Here is one in the water that has speared a fish, not the best shot, and a nest with a baby (looks like a pink worm in the middle of the nest):

The Cormorants were right next to the boardwalk:

We looked this up and think it is a Pied-billed Grebe:

We also managed to get some good shots of a Purple Gallinule:

This is a good time of year to see the endangered Wood Stork:

Here is a male Anhinga hanging out with a Great Egret:
