These came to us in email and we have no source, but having seen this area ourselves we can attest to the "after" parts and can say they are what we saw:
In 2004 we stayed just north of Bay St Louis, MS and drove down to see that part of US90. Now we regret not touring the Biloxi/Gulfport area, but we thought we would have another chance. We also thought we would have another chance at seeing New Orleans.
This reminds Bill of a day trip to Mount Saint Helens when he was young, he meant to get back again and didn't until after it had blown up. Sometimes there is no, "next time". Kind of like the Pretenders song, "My Town is Gone", where she went back to the town in Ohio she was from and it was completely different. Bill's mother lived in Shanghai, China for many years in the 40s, when she visited it a few years ago she could not recognize anything even with before/after pictures since they had torn down and rebuilt so much.
