June 26, 2006 - Worthington Glacier

Worthington Glacier is visible from the highway:

It is also visible as you enter the state recreation area:

After parking the motorhome we first took the ridge trail since we saw people coming off of it.  It went up next to the glacier:

This magpie didn't like us being in its territory:

We could see quite well from the ridge trail, here is the pond at the end of the glacier:

The signs said not to approach the glacier from the front, but these people can't read:

Another view from the ridge trail:

We finally noticed there was another trail that seemed better for us since the ridge trail was getting rough.  We started heading down a different way and took this picture of the parking lot:

There is our motorhome and car, still quite dirty from construction zones:

Once we got on the easy trail there were many informative signs.  This one was the most fun:

From the easy trail you could see the glacier head on, including the blue color of the oldest ice:

Waterfalls coming over from another leg of the glacier:

The pond and glacier:

If we would have wanted to we could have gone on the glacier, but it is a bit dangerous so we didn't try.
