September 1, 2007 - Stuhr Museum, Part 2

The main display at the museum is Railroad Town, a recreated railroad town with townspeople.

A typical house:

The local newspaper.  The guy coming in really has set type using lead and told us all about it.

A planing shop that actually operates:

Video of the planing shop running (720x480 WMV format, 1.09MB)

Lots of other displays:

This is an operating table for a horse:

Lots of homes and businesses to tour and people to talk to about their life:

We then visited the other indoor museum, on the plains Indians, the cowboys and the stuff collected by a local collector.  The woman who answers questions at this part of the museum is a wealth of knowledge and fun to talk to.  We ended up chatting with her till closing.

We were really glad to have visited the Stuhr Museum again.
