September 25 to October 1, 2008 - Southwest Utah

September 25th we headed out of Nevada into Utah.  Here was our view on Nevada 319 heading east.

We fueled up on diesel in Cedar City, UT for $3.659/gallon credit price, the best price we had seen in a long time.

After 155 miles we were camped at WHR St. George Resort in Hurricane, UT.  Our last stay here was in May 2004.

Yes the campsites are narrow but the location is great.

September 27th we drove into St. George and stocked up on groceries and had lunch at Chili's.

September 28th we got up early so we could be in the Zion National Park South Campground around 10AM for a best shot at a campsite.  We made it on time and met up with Mike, our good friend who is a camp host here, and picked a great campsite.

Here is our campsite after our 34 mile journey:

The only downside was the campsite was not level, along with no hookups.

Since we were set up early we took the rest of the day and explored.

September 29th we stayed close to home.  We went out to lunch with Mike at Oscar's Cafe, which was 4-star.  We also viewed two films at the Zion Canyon Theatre, which was OK.  Here are some photos from the day.

October 1st More Zion Exploring Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9

Here is Blue, Mike's new companion.  Mike's previous companion, Mac, died a few months back.  Mac and Blue look a lot alike but are very different in personality.  Blue really likes Diane.

A last view of Zion National Park:

We had a wonderful time in Utah and now we were heading to Las Vegas to get the motorhome looked at and repaired.
