2008 Travels

In 2008 we started in Fort Myers Beach, FL and ended it in Hesperia, CA for a total of 11,702 miles (#70 on map), about 300 more miles than in 2007.  We drove our Honda CRV 15,032 miles in 2008, about 1,000 less miles than in 2007.  We stayed in 68 camping spots, 37 of them for the first time.  We camped again in South Carolina, Alabama and Colorado, all of which we had not camped for some years.  It was a year of national park visits where we visited Yellowstone, Glacier, Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Grand Canyon and Casa Grande Ruins National Monument for the first time and repeated visits to Everglades, Big Cypress, Great Smoky Mountains, Carlsbad Caverns and Zion National Parks.

April 3 to 5: Two day zoom to Lafayette, Louisiana plus the Tabasco Factory and Jungle Gardens in Avery Island, Louisiana (#10 and #11 on map)
