June 9 to 12, 2008 - Tri-Cities, WA (Richland/Pasco/Kennewick)

June 9th we headed out of Poulsbo and over Snoqualmie Pass into Eastern Washington state.  It had been a long time since we had seen the lake at the pass this full:

The weather was nicer across the mountains and the lupines were blooming in many places:

As we neared the Tri-Cities, the wind picked up and we could see dust in the air.  This is known as "the Termination Wind" because in the old days workers would come home to angry wives who told them to quit because they could not stand the dust.

After 287 miles we landed at Sandy Heights RV Park in Pasco.  The last time we were here was in July 2007.

We visited with Dave, Kay and Shannon with dinner at Bella Italia.  We visited multiple times with Dan and Jenny, who were staying up the road for a month, including a nice dinner at Cousins.   We hsd not seen them since May 2007.

One day we took a walk down the Richland riverfront with Yasuhiro.

The river is above its normal levels here:

What a nice sign on the rest room door:

More scenes along the waterfront.

It was fun to walk the waterfront with Yasuhiro and to have dinner at Red Robin with him.  Wanda was out of town.
