December 3 to 9, 2008 - Jamul (San Diego), CA

We pulled out of Dan and Jenny's lot in Yuma and headed out on December 3rd.  We topped off the diesel tank in Arizona since it is cheaper than California and headed west on I-8 into California.  We took CA94 off I-8 and headed to TT Pio Pico in Jamul, CA, just east of San Diego metro.   CA94 was slow going since it was curvy and hilly and we did not make good time.  But after 167 miles we were camped at TT Pio Pico right next to Roger and Toni, whom we had last seen in Bullhead City, AZ in October.

Turns out Linda was also in Pio Pico, so all five of us headed out to Filippi's Pizza Grotto for dinner.  Great fun, great company and 4-star food.

Other than visiting, we went to the zoo twice.  Recently, the San Diego Zoo had given us a deal to renew our membership.

Here are Roger and Toni at Filippi's Pizza Grotto in Jamul for lunch our last day.

After our lunch the four of us went shopping for something Diane was looking for.  We had a good visit as we toured Sam's Club, Costco, Wal-Mart and Fry's Electronics.

Other restaurants we tried during our stay were a Fuddrucker's in La Mesa, which was good as always, and Greek Town Restaurant Buffet in El Cajon.  Greek Town was 4-star and we will remember it for our next visit.

We plan on coming back here in late February or March.  We have a big list of places to go and hope the weather cooperates.

We will not be moving far, about 50 miles north to Ramona, CA.
