August 30 to 31, 2009 - Ashland, WI and the Apostle Islands

We left Prior Lake, MN and headed north and then east to Ashland, Wisconsin.  When we came to Kreher Park we found it almost empty and snagged a beautiful campsite right on Lake Superior with a view.   The campsite even had 50AMP electric service.  When we last camped here in September 2003 they only had 30AMP electric and our cell phones did not work.  After six years our cell phones worked quite well here.

This campsite photo shows Lake Superior, the old ore dock and how large the campsite is.

Yes we fit.

Our view, which will be great for sunsets.

Ashland is also known for the murals being created around town where the faces are of people who live here.

There are also some interesting places like this inn.

We could definitely come back to this campground again and to this area and spend more time!

Now we are off to the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan, another area we want to spend more time.
