August 23 to 29, 2009 - Back to Prior Lake, Minnesota

We left Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin on August 23rd and headed west back into Minnesota and also back to Dakotah Meadows RV Park in Prior Lake, MN.  The day's journey was 124 miles.  We were only a few campsites down from where we were camped earlier in the month.  Bill and Helen had moved since we were last here and were next door, that is them on the left.

Our neighbor was right up to the campsite line:

We went out to the casino cafe for dinner with Bill and Helen.  The cafe had a shrimp special for $7.99 that included dessert.

Bill and Helen left in the morning for a short trip to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  They will be back for one night on the 27th and camped in the same campsite.  After that they will move just east of St. Paul to be closer to their children.

We found the campsite was large enough to park the car either in front or back.

The casino was close by and a shuttle bus away.

August 25th was Diane's doctor visit and it went very well.  She was ahead of schedule for recovery and he did not need to see her again.  He also did not need to take more X-Rays.  In about 3 to 5 weeks she should be fully recovered.

That evening we had a very nice dinner at Perron's Sul Lago in Prior Lake.

August 26th Driving trip on the Great River Road, Part 1, Part 2

Since the old shower door had a handle that we used to hang towels on, we went looking for an over-the-door towel rack.  They came in chrome and white, so we chose white.

We added padding to it to not break the glass and to not mar the brass finish on the door frame.

The brace they made for Diane when when they reset her elbow:

The brace is not needed any more, so out it goes:

Bill and Helen were back the evening of the 27th:

They were a bit distressed since they had a trailer tire blowout about 40 miles away and it did cause some undercarriage damage.  Their emergency road service sent someone out who sold them a new truck tire and mounted it as a trailer tire since he did not have the right sized trailer tire.  The next morning they pulled out and went to a tire dealer close by and replaced all four trailer tires.  After that they headed just east of St. Paul for few days.

While in the metro area we took advantage of having a Trader Joe's in the area and did eat out a couple times.  We had meals at Qdoba, Fuddrucker's, and Spice Thai in addition to the places mentioned above.

We also decided to replace our front TV with an LCD HDTV and went looking, planning on buying it in Indiana where we can get help installing it.  Of course we found the one we wanted was on sale for less than mail order so we bought it and get to carry it around in a box until we get back to Indiana.

Now we are heading to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan via northern Wisconsin.
