November 15, 2012 - Tohono Chul Park, Tucson, AZ

Tohono Chul Park was another place we had not heard of.  It was a garden, restaurant and education center.  We were told the restaurant was good and had lunch at the Tohono Chul Garden Bistro.  Good food, but maybe a bit more expensive than needed.

A map of the park.

Butterflies and hummingbirds were around the entrance.  Some of the butterflies sat still long enough for photos.

We took a docent led walk around the park and then were on our own.  A horned lizard statue.

A Gila Woodpecker on a Saguaro.

Fun flowers on this cactus.

Proof a crested Saguaro can still put arms out the top.

More butterflies inside the park.

The hummingbirds continued to not cooperate and stop long enough for photos.

But we met Larry, and he has many photos from this park at http://www.flickr.com/photos/lpsandman.

The park is also full of art and statues.  Here is an interesting one.

We had a good time and if we lived locally would be regulars.
