October 2, 2007 - Miles 291 to 382 of the Blue Ridge, Part 1

October 2nd we drove the car up to Boone, North Carolina and had an unexciting lunch at Golden Corral.  It was fast.  Then we entered the Blue Ridge Parkway about milepost 291 and headed south.  For once we were going up in mileposts instead of down.  We realized we were missing only 15 miles of the parkway from our last tour.

It was a gorgeous day and we were seeing fall colors here and there:

Our first stop was Moses H. Cone Memorial Park:

Our next stop was Julian Price Memorial Park and Price Lake:
