January 3, 2007 - San Diego Wild Animal Park, Part 4

Lorikeet Landing is where you can feed the lorikeets.  You can tell this boy wishes he was feeding them:

They are pretty and very animated:

This boy understands the moment:

There were people helping some of the kids have lorikeets land on them out of the kindness of their hearts.

We stopped on a deck and this and some other geese were mooching:

A shoebill (sometimes called a stork):

Another native Black-crowned Night heron:

An anhinga, this one is an African version called an African Darter:

Ring Tail Lemurs:

Interesting duck:

Red River Hog:

A native great egret in full breeding plumage:

A meerkat:

Bill switched cameras since the Nikon 8700 did better in low light and with flash.

African spoonbill:

The Eastern Gold-breasted Starling from Kenya is much prettier than the ones that have invaded the U.S.:

It was getting dark so we headed home.  We were happy we used our San Diego Zoo membership that we renewed in 2006.
