April 11, 2008 - Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Part 2

The camera showed colors our eyes did not see.  This photo used the "night landscape" scene mode of our Nikon 8700 camera:

An automatic flash photo of the same location.  This is about how most people's photos would turn out, including the ones we took in 2002:

This one used the "fireworks" scene mode of the camera.  It is OK, but not as good as "night landscape" which we used for most all photos of the caverns.

There are lots of signs to explain things.

These colors are interesting.  You can see the light coming from the surface to the right.
