September 21 to 26, 2009 - Wapakoneta, Ohio

We drove back to Western Ohio on the 21st and ended up at Lakewood Village Resort in Wapakoneta, OH after 204 miles.  Our last stop on Wapakoneta was a single overnight on September 12, 2004.

We are staying for six nights and Joy and Phil are next door.  They had been here since they left Zanesville.

We mostly visited the five nights we were all together.  The only touristy thing we did was to visit the Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum here in Wapakoneta, his home town.

It was too wet to play outside:

There are many displays inside:

The museum is worthwhile and has a nice movie.

One day we drove over to Celina to see Nick and Terry and to check out the rally location where we were all going next.  We had a late lunch at China Wok Buffet in Celina and it was good.  Celina was under 25 miles away.

We also helped Joy get her computer backup system going by driving up to Lima, about 12 miles north on I-75, to get various pieces.   Phil helped us with a couple handy man projects that he was better qualified to do than Bill.  We all came out better.

We had nice meals together at Texas Roadhouse (the Lima location is about the best we have tried), Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans.

Joy and Phil left one day earlier than us to go to Celina.
