Palo Duro Canyon State Park is about a half hour drive from Amarillo. After paying our entrance fee we headed to the visitors center located in the El Coronado Lodge. This is where you get a view of the canyon before driving down into it.

Next we drove the loop in the canyon. Some nice photos along the way.
After having a picnic lunch we decided to take a trail. We chose the Paseo del Rio trail since it had some shelter from the sun. It was about 90 degrees in the canyon this day.
