October 13 to 15, 2010 - Amarillo, Texas

We left Oklahoma City on the 13th and drove on I-40 west to Oasis RV Resort in Amarillo, Texas.  We had traveled 261 miles.

Oasis is much, much nicer than where we stayed in April 2004.  The campsites are huge and the price is quite good.

Our main reason for stopping is to visit nearby Palo Duro Canyon State Park.

October 15th we drove up the frontage road to see a famous local attraction.  This is what it looks like from the frontage road.

Closer shows that it is cars nose into the ground.  This is CarHenge.

People are encouraged to spray paint the cars.  Unfortunately they are not good at cleaning up the old cans.

Dad brought a chair and reading material while his son did some legal graffiti.

In the distance you can see our campground.

We had lunch at a Johnny Carino's in town and got our shopping done.

Now we are off to New Mexico.
