October 10 to 12, 2010 - Checotah and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

We left Hollister, MO on October 10th after saying goodbye to Elinore and Dave and headed to Oklahoma.  We learned that US62 through Arkansas is a slow, hilly and narrow road with many 15, 20 and 25mph corners.  Eventually we got to I-540 and headed south to meet with I-40 heading west.  After 251 miles we were set up for the night at Terra Starr RV Park in Checotah, OK.  Sorry the photo is at night.

This was a nice place to stay for the night and we could see coming back and staying longer.  We have felt bad for years we had only spent one night in Oklahoma so now we were making up for it.

October 11th we headed west on I-40 and after 136 miles we were camped at Council Road RV Park in Oklahoma City.  This campground was recommended by another couple at Terra Starr and we liked it.

October 12th we went into downtown to see the memorial for the 1995 bombing and took lots of photos.

Oklahoma City photos Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4

We actually enjoyed being here in Oklahoma City and could see spending more time here in the future.

Now we are off to Amarillo, Texas.
