February 3, 2010 - Blue Springs State Park, FL, Part 2

A cormorant drying off.

With turtles in the background.

Now we are seeing manatees.

We stopped for the ranger program that concluded with a movie on the manatees.  This one was a John Forsythe one that told why we should protect and save them.

After the ranger program we went to the head springs.  More manatees visible, but most were in the river/creek between the head springs and the Saint Johns River.

What the boardwalk looked like.

More manatee photos.

Three going out.

The three going out are passed by one coming in.  There is little food in the springs, so the manatees go to the river to eat and come back to warm up in the much warmer springs water.
