January 27 to February 5, 2009 - Bullhead City, AZ

We left Quartzsite and made the familiar drive to Bullhead City, Arizona, just across the river from Laughlin, Nevada.  After 136 miles of driving we got a view spot at Ridgeview RV Resort.  We were last here in October 2008.  It was much warmer in October but we can accept daytime highs in the high 60s and low 70s.

Our main reason to come here is we felt it was a good place to catch up on things and get a bit organized.  Unfortunately we came during a prolonged wind event and doing anything with the outside compartments was difficult.  Oh well, we did get a bunch done and caught up on some projects.

Our daytime view of Laughlin from the back of motorhome.

Our nighttime view.

Sunset photos, this one is just as the sun goes down.

Just a bit later:

A telephoto of some clouds on the horizon just after sunset:

A male Gambel's Quail running around in the valley behind the motorhome.  (This photo was taken handheld at full 20X telephoto, 560mm, on our Canon SX10 IS camera.)

We also saw roadrunners and pigeons, but do not have photos of them.

We had lunch at the Harrah's casino buffet twice, at the China Buffet once and at Black Bear Diner once.  These were all repeats from earlier stays.  All other meals we ate in.  Having a nice Sam's Club as our closest grocery store was nice.  Not as nice as a Costco, where we find the quality a bit higher, but still nice.

Now we are off to another rally.
