February 23 to March 1, 2011 - Menifee, CA

We were finally able to do some traveling so we took off for a week at NACO Wilderness Lakes.  After 69 miles we were camped. Our last stay here was in March 2009.

We were camped close to our last campsite but further from the fish cleaning station.

Dennis was across from us in the new motorhome.  Carol was back east dealing with an ill mother.

We got a bit of a tour of the new motorhome and caught up with Dennis, whom we had not seen since September in Goshen, IN.

On the 24th we took Dennis to Bangkok Chef and he enjoyed the food as much as we did.  He and Carol will be back here later in March so he noted where the restaurant was.

Dennis headed out on the 25th a little after 7AM.

We had mostly decent weather during our stay though we had one wet night and some frosty mornings.  It was colder and snowed in Hesperia so we were happy to be 2,000 feet lower in elevation.

March 1st, our last full day, was sunny and warm.  But at 10:35AM Diane heard some yelling and this is what we saw from the back of the motorhome:

Not a sight we want to see.  It is amazing how fast the fire spread and totaled the fifth wheel

We did enjoy bird watching during our stay so here are Bird photos from Wilderness Lakes.

We also ate at Mo's Egg House in Temecula and can highly recommend it for breakfast and lunch.

Now we are heading back to Hesperia.
