April 1 to 13, 2013 - Mesa, AZ, Coachella and Hesperia, CA

Watching these go by was interesting.  They are putting modular homes in not far from us.

Quail by our campsite.

One day Ken and Joan came up from Casa Grande and we all had a very nice meal at Seafood Market in Mesa.  Definitely a repeat place for us all.   Plus it was a great visit.

Another evening we went to Charleston's for dinner and it was great, but they do not have much dessert choice and we had planned to have dessert.  So we drove across Mesa and went to Cheesecake Factory for dessert and that handled that.

Our original plan was to leave on April 8th but the forecast was very stormy, so we stayed an extra night.  We were glad we did since it was very windy and it would not have been a good idea to be driving the motorhome in that wind.

April 9th was much better weather, so we pulled out of Val Vista Village and headed west.

Quartzsite looks a bit less crowded than January.

One RV where there were many more when we last stopped.

After 268 miles we were boondocking in the parking lot of the Spotlight 29 Casino in Coachella.  We last stopped here March 18, 2007.

We didn't go anywhere and did not unhook.

April 10th we drove 107 miles to Desert Willow RV Resort in Hesperia, CA.  We last stayed here in February 2011.

It was a close fit.

Very close.

With the big and nice campsite we stayed here in February 2011 vacant and only two spaces away.  Oh well, we will live.

It was a nice visit with Misty, Sabrina and Taylor.

Gibby is getting much larger.

While in Hesperia we had meals at Red Robin (everyone), Johnny Carinos (just us), and Farmer Boys (with Misty).

Now we continue our journey north.
